Gardens by the Bay - Top choice in Colonial District, the Quays & Marina Bay

Singapore's 101-hectare, $1 billion 21st Century Botanic Gardens are filled with space-age bio-domes, high-tech giant trees and whimsical sculptures. The Flower Dome recreates the arid Mediterranean climate found around the world, while the stunning Cloud Forest captures the tropical mountain climate. Opened in 2019, the thriving Floral Fantasy magically weaves floral art and technology, complete with 4D rides.  The OCBC Skyway connects two Supertrees, offering stunning views. At 7.45pm and 8.45pm, the Supertree lights up for a performance of Garden Rhapsody.

OCBC Skyway tickets are available for purchase at the Ticket Center and Supertree Grove. Package tickets for all attractions are available, and it is recommended to purchase Floral Fantasy tickets a few days in advance to secure your preferred entry time.

Located just west of Supertree Grove, Heritage Gardens is a collection of four themed areas inspired by the cultures of Singapore's three main ethnic groups - Chinese, Malays and Indians - as well as former colonists. Just south of Supertree Grove is British artist Marc Quinn's remarkable sculptural Planet, a seven-ton baby that appears to float across the lawn. It is one of several works of art that adorn the grounds.

If you have kids there is a nursery which has a water playground (with showers and changing facilities) and a huge tree house and adventure playground. The Visitor Center offers stroller rentals (S$2), lockers (S$2-6 depending on size) and audio guides (S$4) or, if you prefer, an outdoor garden tour Shuttle (adults/children under 13).  S$8/3) Garden walk with audio commentary.

Shuttle buses run regularly between Bay Plaza and the Conservatory (9am-9pm; S$3 for unlimited rides).
